ABOUT
I cry at every wedding, just a tear.. usually during the father daughter dance. My name is TJ Romero, and I’ve been a full time professional commercial photographer specializing in wedding photojournalism for over 10 years now, and over 100 weddings photographed.
My superpower is knowing where to be for moments to unfold in front of me as I witness. This premonition comes from years of experience, reading peoples body language, reading the room, anticipating moments in the quiet. This is where I shine.
Studied industrial and product design in San Francisco at The Academy of Art. During this time, I started to approach photography as an artful medium to communicate how I see our world. This has lead me to where I am today.
Now, living in Colorado, my work takes me worldwide, including Bali, Curacao, and London. I spend my time trail-running, endurance hiking, paddle boarding, skiing, golfing, biking, roasting coffee, ceramics, record stores, thrift shops, small towns, big cities… all with my wife, two children and our goldendoodle.

Some Thoughts
To me, marriage is a greenhouse for two people to live inside. This greenhouse is nice and warm, always perfect. Sometimes plants die and leaves fall off. This doesn’t mean the greenhouse is failing. Perhaps more attention to the plants are required. Maybe one plant forgot about the other plant so it got lonely for a bit and started to wither. Not to worry, there are so many ways to take care of our plants. The greenhouse started without any plants, and now there are two, and soon there may be many more. Time will share wisdom and greenhouses will flourish.
HISTORY
The hardest decision during my wedding planning was finding a photographer that gets it. I was on the hunt for a wedding photojournalist that captures using film paired with leica cameras and lenses. Being nostalgic, there is a magical idea that your biggest day of your life has been exposed to something that will outlast our lifetime. This is where our legacy begins! Starting my legacy in a timeless artform is one of the most powerful ways to share your wedding with generations to come.
